Royal messages for South Korea & Germany anniversaries

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a congratulatory message to Lee Myung-Bak, President of the Republic of Korea, on the occasion of the National Foundation Day of the Republic of Korea.

In the message, His Majesty said he is pleased that the two countries continued to take positive strides in enhancing the many areas of cooperation enjoyed in their bilateral relations. And His Majesty looked forward to continue working closely with President Lee Myung-Bak in developing further the existing good friendship and ties shared by the two countries both bilaterally and as regional partners.

His Majesty extended his best wishes for President Lee Myung-Bak's continued good health and happiness, together with the prosperity of the people of the Republic of Korea.

Meanwhile, HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, sent a congratulatory message to Shin Kak-Soo, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Republic of Korea.

His Royal Highness said, "I have great pleasure in sending my warmest congratulations to you and the government and people of the Republic of Korea on the occasion of your National Foundation Day.

"I greatly appreciate the warm friendship and much-valued cooperation shared by our people and wish you a very happy celebration.

"With my kind regards and best wishes to the government of the Republic of Korea for much success in hosting the coming G20 Summit," HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah said.

Meanwhile, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send congratulatory messages to President Christian Wulff of the Federal Republic of Germany and to Chancellor Angela Merkel of the Federal Republic of Germany on the anniversary of the Day of German Unity.

In the message to President Christian Wulff, His Majesty said he looked forward to many opportunities to strengthen the much-valued relations between the two peoples and countries in the coming year, and wished him and the people of Germany continued happiness and prosperity. In his message to Chancellor Angela Merkel, His Majesty much appreciated the warm friendship and cooperation shared between the two countries and looked forward to continue working closely with the Chancellor to strengthen these valuable ties both bilaterally and as partners in the ASEAN-EU Dialogues and the Asia-Europe Meeting.

His Majesty also extended his kind regards and best wishes to President Christian Wulff and Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, sent his warmest congratulations to Guido Westerwelle, Deputy Chancellor and Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Federal Republic of Germany and to the government and people of Germany as they celebrate the Day of German Unity.

His Royal Highness said, "It was a great pleasure meeting you at the Asean-EU Ministerial Meeting in Madrid earlier this year and I much appreciated the discussions we had. I look forward to many future opportunities to strengthen our countries' much-valued friendship and cooperation.
