His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a congratulatory message and best wishes to President Barrack H. Obama, President of United States of America as well as to the government and people of the United States on the occasion of the Independence Day of the USA.

In his message, His Majesty stated that he much valued the excellent cooperation the two countries enjoyed as very close friends and partners and looked forward to continuing work together with Mr Obama.

In ending his message, His Majesty conveyed his warmest regards and very best wishes to the President for a happy Fourth of July celebration.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, also sent a congratulatory message to Hillary R. Clinton, US Secretary of State, on the occasion of Independence Day.
