His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces yesterday consented to view static displays presented by the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and Ministry of Defence (MinDef) at Hangar Squadron 38 for AirForce and MinDef Arena.

Among the exhibits on display at the venue were Mistral Weapon System, Parachute Airborne Tactical Delivery Unit (PATDU), Survival Equipment Section and Target System Shell Duck Banshee IMP.

Apart from that, the simulator and console gaming sections were among the popular attractions at the venue.

After a brief get-together with RBAF personnel, His Majesty viewed the static displays from the Royal Brunei Land Forces at the Mini Stadium Berakas Garrison.

Among the equipment on display were armoured transportation, shooting range, and jungle walk.

At the arena, His Majesty tried some of the exhibited equipment and then led the 200-metre canopy walk.

From the Mini Stadium, His Majesty and the royal entourage went to the Berakas Garrison swimming pool area, where another static exhibition was on show by the Royal Brunei Navy Force.

In appreciating the services and commitment portrayed by former RBAF personnel, His Majesty and the royal entourage also visited the Berakas Garrison Gymnasium Hall for a 'junjung ziarah' session.

Some of the first intake of 1961 until the present members of PARAJURIT did not miss the opportunity to interact with His Majesty and presented a 'pesambah' for the monarch.

The final static display was by the RBAF Training Institute. His Majesty and the royal entourage later witnessed a parachute display at the MRS Football field. - Borneo Bulletin (1 June 2011)
