His Majesty impressed with Expo

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam expressed his overall satisfaction of the Brunei Energy Expo (BEE 2011), which was declared open by the monarch yesterday morning.

His Majesty was kind enough to speak to the Bulletin shortly after concluding the tour of the exhibition at the Bridex Hall 1 & 2 in Jerudong.

With an affirmative nod, His Majesty said, "I am very impressed with the exhibition."

His Majesty particularly noted, "It is very interesting and considering that this is done for the first time, I think it has been successful."

In concluding his remarks, His Majesty indicated that he enjoyed the exhibition very much.

Earlier, upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Pehin Datu Singamenteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, the Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister's office.

Also present to greet His Majesty were Ministers and Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries from several of the government's ministries.

The monarch officiated the opening ceremony before consenting to meet the energy ministers from Asean, as well as Asean's Dialogue Partners and representatives from international energy agencies, namely the International Energy Agency (IEA) and ERIA. - Borneo Bulletin (22nd September 2011)
