Prince Mohamed says NAM provides voice for people

His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, accompanied by YAM Pengiran Anak Mansurah Izzul Bolkiah Tuesday morning attended the Commemorative Meeting at the Palace Serbia to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement.

His Royal Highness delivered a statement emphasising that the Non-Aligned Movement provided a voice for the people. His Royal Highness also expressed appreciation to the founders of the Movement for the Ten Principles of Bandung, which he described as a "Charter for International Relations".

His Royal Highness also thanked Egypt as the current chairman for its fine leadership and stated that Palestine was a "core issue" not only for the Movement but also for Brunei Darussalam.

His Royal Highness held bilateral meetings at the Palace Serbia with Serbian President Boris Tadic, Serbian Minister of Interior Ivica Dacic and Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov.

Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah attended a lunch for spouses of heads of delegation hosted by Natasa Jeremic, wife of Serbian Foreign Minister at the Hotel Hyatt Regency.

Her Royal Highness attended afternoon tea hosted by Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine at the Royal Palace.

His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness, accompanied by YAM Pengiran Anak Mansurah Izzul Bolkiah, in the evening attended a dinner hosted by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander Karadjordjevic of Yugoslavia and Crown Princess Katherine at the Royal Palace. The dinner was attended by Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic and Mrs Natasa Jeremic.

His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness were scheduled to depart from Belgrade yesterday afternoon. - Borneo Bulletin (8th September 2011)
