His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a congratulatory message to Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Singapore on the occasion of Lee's victory in Ang Mo Kio and the success of the People's Action Party in the recent general elections in Singapore.

In the message, His Majesty stated that PM Lee's victory and that of the People's Action Party reaffirmed the support and confidence given by the people of Singapore to both PM Lee's personal leadership as well as his government.

His Majesty also looked forward to working closely together with PM Lee in further enhancing the close friendship and long standing bilateral ties between the two countries.

In concluding the message, His Majesty extended his warmest regards and best wishes for PM Lee's new term in office as well as for the continued welfare and prosperity of the people of Singapore. - Borneo Bulletin (9th May 2011)
