Prince Mohamed arrives in Bangkok

His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is currently in Thailand to attend the One Village, One Product (OVOP) / One Tambon One Product (OTOP) International Seminar 2012 at the Impact Exhibition and Convention Centre in Bangkok.

Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is expected to deliver a keynote address at the two-day seminar, which begins today.

The objectives of the seminar are to share perspectives and experiences of OVOP/OTOP entrepreneurs and to discuss future OVOP/OTOP promotion schemes.

The seminar is being organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion, The National OTOP Administrative Committee (Thailand) and Oita OVOP International Exchange Promotion Committee.

Among other things, there will be presentations on 'The Future of OVOP/OTOP Project' by Dr Rika Fujioka, Senior Consultant of KRI International Corporation, as well as a talk on 'Significance Of The Regional One Product Policy: How To Use The OVOP/OTOP Movements' by Dr Hiroshi Murayama from the international OVOP Policy Association.

The international seminar is themed "Creative OVOP/OTOP For Sustainable Community". - Borneo Bulletin (15 December 2012)
