His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam received a congratulatory message from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of the monarch's 66th birthday.

The message read, "It gives me great pleasure to extend to His Majesty my congratulations on the occasion of His Majesty's 66th birthday, together with my continued best wishes for the peace and happiness of the people of Brunei Darussalam.

"I was also delighted that His Majesty was able to join us for the recent Diamond Jubilee celebrations in London and we thank His Majesty for the continued support and contribution to the Commonwealth." - Borneo Bulletin (15 July 2012)
