His Majesty visits Defence Services Asia Exhibition

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday afternoon consented to visit the 13th Defence Services Asia Exhibition, 2012 at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Accompanying His Majesty during the visit was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik.

Upon arrival at the Putra World Trade Centre, His Majesty was greeted by Dato' Seri Dr Haji Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, Minister of Defence of Malaysia; General Tan Sri Dato' Sri Zulkifeli bin Mohd Zin, Chief of Armed Forces of Malaysia; Tan Sri Asmat Kamaluddin, Chairman of the Defence Services Asia Exhibition; and other senior military officials.

Also present at the Putra World Trade Centre to greet His Majesty was Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

Upon arrival, His Majesty viewed the replica of Euro Jet Fighter Typhoon at the compound of the Merdeka Hall before touring various exhibition halls.

The Defence Services Asia Exhibition, aimed at the development of defence and security industries, has attracted exhibitors worldwide including manufacturers and distributors of defence technology equipment and weapons, missiles, tanks, fire control systems and other related technologies.

During the visit to the exhibition, His Majesty witnessed the Army Dynamic Display, where a hostage rescue demonstration was performed by the Counter Terrorist Unit of the Special Forces Group of the Malaysian Army.

Before concluding the visit, His Majesty consented to attend an afternoon tea hosted by Dato' Dr Haji Ahmad Zahid.
