Royalty at special thanksgiving ceremony

A special thanksgiving ceremony was yesterday held at the Law and Courts Building in the capital for personnel of the Office for Registry of Companies and Business Names who will soon transfer to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

This transfer, according to a press release by the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC), takes effect April 2012 with the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

The Registry of Companies and Business Names was established in 1959 under the Attorney General's Office, which was then housed at the Old Secretariat Building in Bandar Seri Begawan.

Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah was among those present at the ceremony.

Also in attendance was the Attorney General, Datin Seri Paduka Hjh Hayati binti POKSDSP Hj Mohd Salleh; YAM Pengiran Anak Haji Mohammed Al-Mokhtar; and officers and staff of the AGC.

In her speech, the Attorney General conveyed her appreciation to the personnel for their commitment and dedication in providing registry services to the public.

She also acknowledged and highlighted the many achievements by the Registry, which include the silver category achievement for their participation in the Kumpulan Kerja Cemerlang (Quality Control Circle) in 2002.

Later, Mohaimin bin Mohamed, who had served at the Registry for 30 years, delivered a speech on behalf of the Registry personnel.

A doa selamat was later read by Counsel Muhd Adi Faisal bin Hj Omar.

HRH Princess Hajah Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah also presented certificates of appreciation to the Registry personnel. - Borneo Bulletin (18 March 2012)
