His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha yesterday consented to attend the Al-Falaah School Ihtifaal programme at the main hall of the school in Sungai Akar.

The day saw the monarch presenting prizes and certificates to the son of His Majesty, HRH Prince 'Abdul Wakeel, and to 98 other Kindergarten III students from the school's Sungai Akar and Ban 5 branches, as well as 17 Year Six students from the Sungai Akar branch.

The event also announced the best students of each graduating class, seeing HRH Prince 'Abdul Wakeel emerging in the third position for the Kindergarten III Boys morning session.

Performances by students of the school preceded the certificate and prize presentation, involving Kindergarten III and Kindergarten II students.

HRH Prince 'Abdul Wakeel later appeared on stage to lead a group recital of Surah Yaasiin. This was then followed by a welcoming speech delivered by the school's Deputy Principal. His Majesty's daughter, HRH Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah performed in a Classroom Sketch and an Arabic religious song with other Kindergarten II girls.

Following the stage performances, His Majesty then consented to present certificates to the male recipients from Kindergarten III and Year VI, while Her Majesty the Raja Isteri consented to present certificates to the female students of Kindergarten III and Year VI.

Their Majesties then proceeded to visit a few classrooms, mingling with students. Prior to leaving the venue, Their Majesties consented to have a group photo taken with the teachers and staff of Al-Falaah School. - Borneo Bulletin (24 November 2012)
