Crown Prince bestows 635 honorary medals

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to bestow the state honorary medals to another 635 recipients on the fourth day of the Investiture Ceremony.

The medals were to recognise their dedication and commitment towards executing their roles and duties to the government and nation.

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, with the consent of His Majesty, bestowed the medals in a ceremony held at the Balai Singgahsana Indera Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman yesterday.

The ceremonial proceedings began with the presentation of 'Pingat Indah Kerja Baik' (PIKB) or the Excellent Service Medal to a total of 290 recipients while another 345 recipients received their 'Pingat Kerja Lama' (PKL) or Long Service Medal.

The honorary medals were awarded based on individual merits and work that represented their contributions to the nation through the government and non-government sectors. - Borneo Bulletin (29 April 2012)
