His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to present Air Pilot Wings to Royal Brunei Air Pilot Trainees yesterday at the Penanjong Garrison Officers' Mess.
Among the recipients were the first-ever female Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) Pilot Trainee - 854 Lt (U) Dk Nurazriana binti Pg Hassanan - marking yet another proud achievement to the profiles of women in the country.
Also gracing the ceremony was His Royal Highness Prince General Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and General of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
The event was held after His Majesty had consented to attend the closing ceremony of the Brunei International Skill At Arms Meet 2012 at the Binturan Shooting Range and a visit to Royal Brunei Armed Forces Training Simulation Centre.
The recipients of the Air Pilot Wings were 809 Capt (U) Hj Mohd Azmi bin Hj Afflon; 792 Lt (U) Md Adieb bin Abdul Rahman; 794 Lt (U) Ak Hj Md Yazafaris bin Pg Hj Md Yamin; 803 Lt (U) Mohd Kaisan bin Hj Ludin; 829 Lt (U) Azhar@Reamy bin Hj Jumat; 854 Lt (U) Dk Nurazriana binti Pg Hassanan and 855 2Lt (U) Abdul Hanif bin Abdul Salleh.
After the presentation of the Air Wings, His Majesty consented to mingle with the recipients. The monarch later consented to sign a Royal Parchment before taking a group photo.
Also present were the Deputy Minister of Defence, Dato Paduka Hj Mustappa bin Hj Sirat and Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Hj Aminuddin Ihsan.
