His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, yesterday granted an audience to Lieutenant General Abdul Wadud, Principal Staff Officer (PSO) to the Prime Minister, Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh.
Lt General Abdul Wadud is currently in the country for a three-day introductory visit.
Also present during the audience were Major General Dato Paduka Seri Hj Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Hj Abidin, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces; Mr M Shameem Ahsan, High Commissioner of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to Brunei Darussalam; Major Faruque Ahmed, Personal Secretary to the Principal Staff Officer to the Prime Minister of Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh; Dato Paduka Hj Hamdan bin Hj Abu Bakar, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office; and Awg Mohd Sahrip bin Othman, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Defence Policy and Development) at the Ministry of Defence.
In another part of the Istana Nurul Iman, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha consented to receive in a separate audience the wife of Principal Staff Officer to the Prime Minister, Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh, Mrs Begum Shamsun Nahar.
She was accompanied by the wife of the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Datin Nurhayana Janis binti Abdullah.
