His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam left Lao PDR (Laos) last night after attending the two-day meeting of the 9th ASEM.
Before leaving Don Chan Palace, a 'Doa Selamat' was read by Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Hj Awg Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
At the airport, His Majesty consented to inspect a Static Guard.
His Majesty was bid farewell by Phongsavat Boupha, Minister at the Office of the President of Laos and Phouangkeo Langsy, Director General of Asia Pacific and Africa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos. Prior to boarding the royal aircraft, His Majesty consented to receive a bouquet of flowers.
Also present to bid farewell to His Majesty at the Wattay International Airport was Dr Hj Emran bin Hj Bahar, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Lao PDR.
Accompanying His Majesty were Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister's Office and Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Awang Lim Jock Seng, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II.
