HER Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah graced the 20th edition of the Toyota Classics and presented donations to charity organisations amounting to B$70,000 at the Arts Centre of Jerudong International School (JIS) last night.
Two charitable organisations received B$35,000 each from proceeds of ticket sales of the annual event co-sponsored by NBT (B) Sdn Bhd and Toyota Motor Asia Pacific (TMAP).
The Acting Chairman and Senior Trustee on the Board of Trustees of Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam, Dato Paduka Haji Alimin bin Haji Abdul Wahab received the donation on behalf of the board. Meanwhile, receiving on behalf of Dana Ihsan Annur Harapan was Dato Paduka Hj Abdul Rahman bin Hj Mohiddin, its Deputy Chairman.
It was an unforgettable evening of musical showpiece, featuring the renowned North Czech Philharmonic Teplice under the capable baton of leading maestro Charles Olivieri Munroe who first performed in Brunei with the Prague Chamber Orchestra in 2009. Munroe was accompanied by the acclaimed soloist Manuel Blanco (trumpet).
In his welcoming speech, Ninan Chacko, Managing Director of NBT (Brunei) Sdn Bhd highlighted the main appeal of the Toyota Classics as a charity event that NBT and Toyota have unwaveringly supported over the last 20 years, making a difference for the less fortunate.
He also expressed his gratitude to Her Royal Highness for the continued support and generosity to the charity organisations to assist them in their respective important and meaningful community services.
Also present last night were distinguished guests, including ministers and deputy ministers. Toyota was represented by Shinjo Sasaki, Executive Vice-President of Toyota Motor Asia Pacific.
