Sultan confers 563 state honorary medals 2

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to confer honorary medals to 563 people from both the public and private sectors in recognition for their long and faithful service to the government and contribution to the country. More are scheduled to be conferred today and on Wednesday.

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Deputy Sultan, presented the honorary medals in an investiture ceremony at the Balai Singgahsana Indra Kencana, Istana Nurul Iman. Also present at the event was His Royal Highness Prince ĎAbdul Malik.

Three types of medals were presented; Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) or Meritorious Service Medal; Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB) or Excellent Service Medal and Pingat Kerja Lama (PKL) or Long Service Medal.

Yesterday, 64 people received Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK), comprising 52 males and 12 females. Three hundred and fifteen people received Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB), comprising 211 males and 104 females and 184 people received Pingat Kerja Lama (PKL), comprising 102 males and 82 females.

Recipients of Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) comprised five from the Prime Ministerís Office, 45 from the Ministry of Defence, two from the Ministry of Education, two from the Ministry of Health, seven from the Ministry of Development, two from the Ministry of Home Affairs, and one from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Recipients of Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB) comprised 160 people from the Prime Ministerís Office, 51 from the Ministry of Defence, 18 from the Ministry of Finance, nine from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, 27 from the Ministry of Communications, and 50 from private sectors.

Recipients of Pingat Kerja Lama (PKL) comprised 81 people from the Prime Ministerís Office, 30 from the Ministry of Defence, 12 from the Ministry of Finance, 14 from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and 47 from the Ministry of Communications.
