HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a message of congratulations to Kevin Rudd, the new Prime Minister of Australia.

In the message, His Majesty very much valued the excellent ties that both countries enjoyed and looked forward to working closely with the new Australian Prime Minister in further strengthening these relationships as well as in continuing work together in enhancing regional and international cooperation.

His Majesty ended the message by extending his kindest regards to Mr Kevin Rudd.

His Majesty also sent a message of congratu-lations to Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani on the occasion of his appointment as the Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Qatar.

His Majesty greatly appreciated the brotherly relations between the two countries and looked forward to opportunities to strengthen this much-valued friendship and cooperation.
