HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, yesterday afternoon consented to receive in audience General Shigeru Iwasaki, Chief of Staff, Joint Staff, Japan Self-Defense Forces at Istana Nurul Iman. Present during the audience ceremony was Kenichi Suganuma, Ambassador of Japan to Brunei Darussalam and Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin. General Iwasaki is currently in the country for a three-day official visit, RTB reported.

In a separate ceremony, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha consented to receive in audience Madam Toshiko Iwasaki, spouse of General Shigeru Iwasaki at Istana Nurul Iman. Present at the audience ceremony were Datin Nurhayana Janis binti Abdullah, the spouse of the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and spouse of the Counselor at the Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam. - Borneo Bulletin (4 June 2013)
