Deputy Sultan presents honorary medals to over 600 recipients

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to give honorary service medals to more than 600 government servants and from the private sector in recognition of their long and outstanding services at an investiture ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman yesterday.

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Deputy Sultan, presented the honorary medals as the personal representative of His Majesty.

The honorary medals presented were Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) or Meritorious Service Medal, Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB) or Good Service Medal, and Pingat Kerja Lama (PKL) or Long Service Medal.

In addition, another medal called Pingat Bakti Laila Iklas (PBLI) was awarded to a single recipient yesterday.

The investiture ceremony began with the award of Pingat Bakti Laila Iklas (PBLI) medal to Dato Paduka Haji Ali Hashim bin Haji Daud, followed by the awarding of PJK medals to 57 recipients, the PIKB medal to 357 recipients, and the PKL medal to 202 recipients.

The recipients were government employees from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources as well as some private sector employees. - Borneo Bulletin (11 June 2014)
