Sultan leaves Myanmar

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam left Myanmar yesterday after attending the 24th Asean Summit.

Before leaving for the Nay Pyi Taw Intern-ational Airport, a Doa Selamat was read by Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

Before boarding the royal aircraft, His Majesty consented to walk past a static guard.

Present at the airport to bid farewell to His Majesty were Dr Ko Ko Oo, Minister of Science and Technology, Myanmar; and Daw Yin Yin Myint, Ambassador of Myanmar to Brunei Darussalam; as well as other senior officials from the Government of Myanmar.

Also present was Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Pahlawan Colonel (Rtd) Dato Paduka Hj Abdu’r Rahmani bin Dato Paduka Hj Basir, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Myanmar. - Borneo Bulletin (12 May 2014)
