Royal concern over Palestinian bloodshed
Azlan Othman

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday expressed deep concern over the atrocities being directed towards the Palestinians.

“Brunei Darussalam symphatises with the people and nation of Palestine, their peace and prosperity jeorpadised by an inhumane enemy,” the monarch said in his 68th birthday titah delivered at the Istana Nurul Iman.

“Such enemy dares to kill children, women, the elderly and innocent civilians. They have also destroyed buildings and residences – not forgetting mosques and schools, without taking into account that such crimes were carried out during the holy month of Ramadhan when Muslims were fasting,” His Majesty added.

The monarch noted earlier that in the international arena, our nation will continue to uphold good policies and respect friendly nations, aside from strengthening cooperation in various fields for the peace and well-being of all. - Borneo Bulletin (15 August 2014)
