TWO recipients, Juliahana Malim and Hjh Siti Adilah Hj Mohd Tanjong, were among hundreds awarded with the Excellent Service Medal, expressed their gratitude to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for consenting to award them for their contributions.

Both recipients shared their excitement and pride for being part of the lucky group awarded the honorary medals and also extended their appreciation to their heads of department for the support and appreciation given to them.

They pledged to do much better in their remaining years of service with the government.

Juliahana has been working with the government since 1988, where she started her first job as a tracer at the Public Works Department, before being transferred to the Ministry of Defence as a draughtsman.

After several years at the ministry, she moved to the Housing Development Department as a senior draughtsman.

On the other hand, Hjh Siti Adilah started her career with the government as a draughtsman at the Housing Development Department in 1992 and currently holds the post of senior technical assistant at the department.

“Our advice to fellow government servants, particularly the younger generation, is to render their service diligently, sincerely and most importantly to work loyally and trustworthily, while at the same time carry out the responsibilities shouldered on them with full commitment,” Juliahana said.

Both Juliahana and Hjh Siti Adilah received their honorary medals from His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Deputy Sultan at the Indera Kencana Hall of the Istana Nurul Iman yesterday. - Borneo Bulletin (15 June 2014)
