Crown Prince welcomes Timor-Leste PM to Brunei

THE Prime Minister and Minister of Defence and Security for the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao, arrived in Brunei Darussalam for an official three-day state visit yesterday, where he was welcomed upon his arrival by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Also present at the airport were YB Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, Minister of Communications and Minister-in-Attendance as well as other senior government officials.

Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao was invited onto the dais to receive the salute of honour, during which the national anthems of both countries were played. The prime minister then inspected a guard of honour by Royal Brunei Land Forces personnel.

The prime minister was introduced to senior officials in the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. - Borneo Bulletin (16 March 2014)
