His Majesty sends condolences to Malaysia, Netherlands

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to send messages of condolences to leaders of Malaysia and Kingdom of the Netherlands following Thursday’s air disaster involving Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in Ukraine.

In the message to His Majesty Al-Sultan Almu’tasimu Billahi Muhibbuddin Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Badlishah, the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XIV of Malaysia, His Majesty along with Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha were deeply saddened to hear of the news regarding the disaster involving MH17.

His Majesty and other members of the royal family, as well as the Government and people of Brunei Darussalam, wished to convey their deepest condolences and sympathies to His Majesty Al-Sultan Almu’tasimu Billahi Muhibbuddin Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, as well as the Government and people of Malaysia, over this tragedy.

His Majesty prayed that Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala would bestow His blessings upon the souls of the victims and place them amongst His loved and pious ones.

In the message to Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia, His Majesty expressed his deepest sadness upon hearing the shocking news of the air disaster.

His Majesty’s Government and the people of Brunei Darussalam joined His Majesty in expressing their sympathies and condolences to the Malaysian Prime Minister, as well as the Government and people of Malaysia, especially to the families of the victims involved.

His Majesty hoped they would continue to be patient and steadfast in facing this disaster during the holy month of Ramadhan and prayed that Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala would bless the souls of the victims.

In the message to His Majesty King Willem-Alexander, His Majesty said he was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the loss of life of Dutch nationals following the crash.

His Majesty’s Government and people of Brunei Darussalam joined His Majesty and Her Majesty in expressing their deepest condolences to His Majesty King Willem-Alexander, as well as the Government and people of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, especially to the families of the victims.

In the message to Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands, His Majesty expressed his great sadness upon learning of the loss of life of Dutch nationals following the crash. On behalf of the Government and people of Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty wished to offer his deepest condolences to the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, and to the people of Netherlands, especially to the families of the victims at this difficult time. - Borneo Bulletin (19 July 2014)
