Launching of ‘Bandar Seri Begawan Menagih Berkat dari Langit dan Bumi’
Khal Baharulalam

AS BRUNEI strides towards the era of globalisation and becomes more exposed to worldly sets of morals, it is vital that the nation’s community maintains a certain code of conduct – the Adat Istiadat that falls under our Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) ethics.

This was the basis of the ‘Bandar Seri Begawan Menagih Berkat dari Langit dan Bumi’ book which was launched at Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien’s Promulgation Ceremony as the Pre-Eminent Figure of the Age of Brunei’s Adat Istiadat yesterday.

The book which was written by the State Mufti, Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned bears the contents from his special lecture at the mass Maghrib prayers and Khatam Al-Quran ceremony in remembrance of day Bandar Brunei was renamed to Bandar Seri Begawan, on November 12, 2012 at Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital.

The State Mufti stresses on the importance for us as nationals of Brunei to be grateful and supportive of the Monarch’s visions and leadership ‘to gain the blessing from Heaven and Earth’.

The contents of book also highlight stories behind the name change of the capital.

The book, which had only been launched at yesterday’s historic event will be announced for its availability for sale in due time. - Borneo Bulletin (1 April 2014)
