THE Pertiwi Association organised another Household Management Exhibition yesterday at the International Convention Centre in Berakas, which was held in conjunction with the His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s birthday celebration.

Gracing the ceremony was Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah, who was accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna.

With the theme this year being ‘Household Management towards the National Vision’, the one-day exhibition was divided into six categories, namely education, family welfare services, health and safety, food and economy, clothing as well as household management equipment.

In her welcome remarks as co-chairperson of the event, Datin Hajah Siti Hajar Pehin OKSS Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof stressed that the role of a mother and wife has evolved, especially with the dawn of the cyber age, which carries with it its own sets of challenges.

This, she said, includes educating children before and after entering the formal school environment, as well as being knowledgeable in family welfare and being constantly aware of services rendered by agencies that are centred on the wellbeing of the family.

The event yesterday was lined with a number of enthusiastic entrepreneurs specialising in a variety of goods and services catered especially to the taste of Bruneian women, ranging from handmade jewellery to traditional cakes, as well as handicraft and clothing suited for modern women. - Borneo Bulletin (21 September 2014)
