His Majesty joins Singapore PM for morning walk

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday morning joined a morning walk and breakfast with Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Singapore.

His Majesty then attended a meeting with Goh Chok Tong, Emeritus Senior Minister of Singapore.

Accompanying His Majesty during the morning walk was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik.

Upon arrival at the Gardens by the Bay, His Majesty was greeted by Lee Hsien Loong; K Shanmugam, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law; Gan Kim Yong, Minister of Health; Tan Chuan-Jin, Acting Minister for Manpower; Lawrence Wong, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information; Masagos Zulkifli Masagos Mohamad, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Dr Mohamad Maliki bin Osman, Minister of State, Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Defence; Muhd Faishal Ibrahim, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Transport; and Dr Tan Wee Kiat, Chief Executive Officer, Gardens by the Bay.

His Majesty then proceeded to the World of Plants where he planted a ‘Dryobalanapos Lanceolata’ tree sapling or commonly known as ‘Kayu Kapur’.

After about 2km of morning walk, His Majesty had breakfast with Lee Hsien Loong. Following that, His Majesty consented to sign a visitor book and received a ‘pesambah’ in the form of ‘coin set’ presented by Dr Tan Wee Kiat.

Accompanying His Majesty were Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of Environment and Water Resource of the Republic of Singapore, as the Minister-In-Attendance; Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Education; Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister’s Office; Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II; and Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office.

After that, His Majesty consented to meet with Goh Chok Tong at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

During the meeting, they shared views on current development of both countries.
