THE national flag can be seen flying at government buildings, private residences and company premises as the nation gears up to celebrate His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 68th birthday.
The month-long celebration kicked off yesterday in the Tutong District with a national flag raising ceremony held at the open area of the Tutong Civic Hall Complex.
The guest of honour was Permanent Secretary (Defence Policy and Development) at the Ministry of Defence, Colonel (Rtd) Pg Dato Paduka Haji Azmansham bin Pg Haji Mohamad.
Also present during the event were Tutong District Officer, Awang Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali; members of the Legislative Council representing Tutong, YB Orang Kaya Maha Bijaya Haji Othman bin Uking, YB Dato Paduka Haji Abdullah bin Haji Mohd Ja’afar, YB Orang Kaya Jaya Putera Dato Paduka Awang Haji Muhammad Taha bin Abdul Rauf, and YB Awang Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit; as well as government officials.
The event commenced with the arrival of the delegation carrying the national flag led by the Assistant Tutong District Officer, Haji Adnan bin Haji Adam; accompanied by the Tutong Four-Wheel Drive Association and Tutong Motorcycle Club.
