Prince Mohamed attends Global Forum in Bali

HIS Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, yesterday morning attended the opening session of the 6th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations (UNAOC) at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre in Bali, Republic of Indonesia.

The forum was opened by Dato Laila Utama Dr Haji Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, President of Indonesia, and attended by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, as well as ministers and delegates from over 130 countries and representatives from various international organisations such as the United Nations, Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation and the European Union.

His Royal Highness, in the afternoon, joined colleagues at a luncheon hosted by the Indonesian President.

His Royal Highness also attended the forum’s Ministerial Meeting and delivered a statement, expressing Brunei Darussalam’s appreciation to the alliance’s role in giving ordinary people confidence in developing a future that respects all faiths, cultures and societies.

His Royal Highness, in the evening, attended the Global Forum Dinner and Cultural Evening hosted by Dr Marty Natalegawa, Indonesia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.

His Royal Highness was accompanied by YAM Pengiran Anak Mansurah Izzul Bolkiah. - Borneo Bulletin (30 August 2014)
