Royal messages of congratulations to Korea, Germany

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send messages of congratulations to the President of the Republic of Korea on the occasion of the National Foundation Day of the Republic of Korea and to the President of the Federal Republic of Germany on the occasion of Germany’s Day of Unity.

In the message to the President of the Republic of Korea, Park Geun-Hye, as well as the Government and people of the Republic of Korea, His Majesty said he very much valued the warm friendship and longstanding cooperation enjoyed by the two countries over the last 30 years. His Majesty also stated that it had been a pleasure working with the president to enhance regional cooperation including working together in the East Asia Summit.

His Majesty looked forward to seeing Park Geun-Hye later this year to further strengthen both bilateral and regional partnerships, as Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Korea commemorate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries as well as the 25th anniversary of Asean-Republic of Korea dialogue relations.

In a message Joachim Gauck, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, as well its Government and people, His Majesty said he greatly appreciated the warm friendship and close cooperation shared by the two countries and looked forward to strengthening these valuable ties through bilateral and international work together.

In ending the message, His Majesty extended his kindest regards and best wishes to both leaders and wished them continued progress and prosperity.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei Darussalam also sent a message of congratulations to Yun Byung-se, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea on the occasion of the National Foundation Day of the Republic of Korea.

His Royal Highness sent his congratulations to Yun Byung-se and the Government and people of the Republic of Korea on their national Foundation Day. His Royal Highness said, as our countries celebrate 30 years of close bilateral relations, we thank your government and people most warmly for their friendship and invaluable cooperation.

His Royal Highness also expressed his great appreciation for the kind welcome and hospitality during His Royal Highness’s recent visit, and extended his best wishes for a very happy Foundation Day celebration.

His Royal Highness also sent a congratulatory message to Frank Walters Steinmeier, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany on the occasion of the anniversary of the Day of German Unity.

His Royal Highness also congratulated the Government and people of Germany on the anniversary day.

His Royal Highness said he very much appreciated the long-standing cooperation and warm friendship enjoyed by our people. His Royal Highness looked forward to continuing to work with him in the coming years.

His Royal Highness also thanked him for Germany’s contribution to the Asean-EU dialogue and sent his best wishes to him and the German people for a very happy celebration. - Borneo Bulletin (3 October 2014)
