The Deputy Sultan, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Pengiran Muda Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, made a working visit to Mukim Pengkalan Batu - in the Brunei-Muara District - yesterday as part of his itinerary to acquaint himself with the situation in various parts of the country.
The working visit began with a royal call on the Bebuloh Primary School. HRH was greeted on his arrival there by the Special Adviser to His Majesty and Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Dato Awg Hj Isa, Deputy Home Affairs Minister Pehin Dato Awg Hj Adanan, senior government officers as well as the penghulu of Mukim Pengkalan Batu, Awg Hj Tahir Hj Tarip.
In his welcoming speech, Awg Hj Tahir briefed HRH on the mukim and villages under it, as well as on various facilities available in the area. The Crown Prince then consented to tour the school before going over to the Kg Bebuloh Police Post.
HRH was on hand to witness two residents of the area embrace the Islamic faith at the Kg Bebuloh Religious Activities Centre soon after. There was also a trip to the tangerine farm owned by Delta Integrated Sdn Bhd, before HRH called on the ketua of Kg Bebuloh, Awg Muhd Sa'id Tundak, at his home.
The orchid plantation of Syarikat Azura Nursery was next on HRH's agenda, followed by a visit to the residence of the Kg Wasan ketua, Awg Mat Noor Ma'arof.
The Crown Prince later took a closer look at the Panglima Barudin Primary School in nearby Kg Limau Manis, checking on facilities available in the school. He followed that up with visits to the Limau Manis Post Office, as well as the village's police station and health clinic.
HRH performed Zuhur prayers at the Kg Limau Manis Mosque before proceeding for a luncheon.
HRH's afternoon programme began with a trip to the Koperasi Ladang Kelompok BAKA in Kg Junjungan, before HRH proceeded to the Hua Ho Agricultural Farm located not too far away. On hand to greet HRH at the farm were its proprietor Pehin Lau Ah Kok and his staff.
From there, HRH drove to the Ideal Multifeed Farm in Kg Masin.
HRH then headed to the Masin Primary School, where HRH was briefed by the principal on school activities and facilities, before HRH took the opportunity to observe several classes in progress. Next, HRH stopped by the residences of the Kg Batong ketua, Awg Hj Sharbini Pehin Dato Paduka Awg Hj Moksin, before proceeding to the home of the Mukim Pengkalan Batu penghulu, Hj Tahir.
The Crown Prince ended his visit with the asar prayers at the Kg Panchor Murai Mosque.
Mukim Pengkalan Batu consists of eight villages, and has a population of 9,881 - the majority of whom being government servants. The villages under Mukim Pengkalan Batu are Kg Panchor Murai, Junjungan, Pengkalan Batu, Masin, Bebuloh, Batong, Wasan and Limau Manis.
