Two festive weeks have barely passed and there is still a myriad of events and activities held nationwide to mark His Majesty's 58th birthday celebrations.
And of all the annually held events, few would be more visible and audible than the one taking place at the large car park near the Royal Regalia in the capital.
Last Monday night at the car park, amidst the highly packed night market and eating stalls, hundreds of celebrants including local residents and tourists gathered near the stage to watch a live cultural show organised by five of the RTB radio channels with the theme "Rentak Radio 5 - 8".
For the first time, the five popular radio channels, namely Nasional, Rangkaian Pelangi, Nur Islam, Harmoni and Pilihan put together a live performance in conjunction with His Majesty's birthday celebrations.
The show was also broadcast live via the Pilihan radio channel from 8.30 pm until midnight, with a programme of around 25 performances including songs, dances, quizzes and a comedy sketch to fill the night.
The event proved to be a golden opportunity for radio listeners to finally see their favourite Dee Jays from the five radio channels performing live on stage and making their presence felt through several onstage acts.
Further adding to the festive atmosphere, various cultural and modern dances performed by guest artistes from the "Lively Dancers" group.
Akira-Talentime 2004 winner Mohd Fakhrul was also performed live in one of the highlights of the colourful event.
There was also a comedy performance by comedians Dk Rosiah, Zakaria and Yusni, thereby keeping the audience thoroughly entertained.
Quizzes with attractive prizes for audiences both at home via telephone and at the show were also among the highlights of the evening.
