21-gun salute marks Sultan’s 67th birthday

A 21-gun salute to commemorate the 67th birthday celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was carried out to perfection by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces yesterday in the heart of the capital.

A total of seven cannons with 24 personnel led by Major Mardini bin Abdul Rahman, Deputy Commanding Officer of the Military Police of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces carried out the 21-gun salute in front of the Bandar Seri Begawan General Post Office.

The firing of the cannons, which started at 8am, attracted crowds around the area. - Borneo Bulletin (16 July 2013)
